Kids on the Move - Little Helpers for Little Heroes

KinderMobil - Kleine Helfer für kleine Helden

"Kids on the Move" is an exhibition on moving about with small children - a show on the inventiveness in technical solutions for their transport during the past one hundred years up to the present.

The exhibition looks at three themes. Firstly, it shows the different techniques of carrying a child on your body. The second section presents perambulators from the last ten decades. The prams are emblematic of a growing mobility among parents with small children. They tell a story about the history of both technology and design. The motorisation of the private transportation of children revolutionised the mobility of families. At the same time, the need for security rose, and with it the restriction of children's physical mobility. Security and immobility are the issues looked at in the third section of the exhibition which displays all those important little "transport helpers" for cars, bicycles, and motorcycles.
